We wish to extend our appreciation to the organization for the support you have given to us in the ending year 2025. Nach freundlichen und informativen Telefonaten mit Ilonka hatten wir auf unserer Hochzeitsreise im September endlich die Chance die Bongwe School zu besuchen. Schon im Vorfeld hatten wir Kontakt mit Masoud, der uns sofort angeboten hatte uns mit dem Tuktuk einzusammeln und gemeinsam zur Schule zu fahren. Bereits die Fahrt war super interessant und wir konnten von Masoud schon viel über die Umgebung und Kenia lernen. Angekommen in der Schule, wurden wir sofort herzlich vom Schulleiter empfangen und wurden durch die gesamte Anlage geführt. Wir konnten sofort sehen, was der Verein Pro Ukunda bereits in der Schule verändert und bewirkt hat - man merkte den Menschen vor Ort die Dankbarkeit für die Unterstützung sofort an.
Uns hat der Besuch wirklich sehr bewegt und wir freuen uns nun den Verein langfristig mit gutem Gewissen zu unterstützen.
Wir danken Ilonka und Masoud für die tolle Möglichkeit die Schule zu besichtigen und würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen!

Imbglad to be gere.I would wish to take this opportunity to say "THANK YOU" to Proukunda team and maman Ilonka.When I aarived in Bongwe I found wonderful programmes that were going on and still are going on. This programs have made the life of the Bongwe children easier and better.Thank you for lunch programme,eye programme,buildings and renovations of classes. Our school kitchen looks beru beautiful.Our Kiga children are well take care of by the doctor.Thank you.I was glad to meet Kelvin Murk and his family.I also met Diana Fojak together with her husband.and They were able to see the school and we were very happy and promised to be part of the team.Thank you.I promise to be part and parcel of the tema and make the Bongwe child life's better

Dank der großartigen Unterstützung von Ilonka durften wir die Schule im Rahmen unserer Kenia Reise besuchen. Es war ein tief berührendes Erlebnis.
Schon im Vorfeld hatte ich durch meine Arbeit als Autorin, über Bucheinnahmen, kleine Herzensprojekte und gemeinsam mit meiner wunderbaren Community Spenden sammeln dürfen. Gemeinsam konnten wir dazu beitragen, diese Schule zu unterstützen ein Ort, an dem wirklich etwas bewegt wird.
Der Empfang war herzlich, offen und voller Freude. Die Kinder haben gestrahlt, als wir ihnen kleine Süßigkeiten für die Ferien mitgebracht haben. Auch der Schulleiter hat sich viel Zeit genommen, uns alles zu erklären genau wie Masoud, ein Mitarbeiter vor Ort, dem wir besonders für seine Zeit und Mühe danken möchten. Es war deutlich spürbar, mit wie viel Engagement hier gearbeitet wird.
Wir konnten mithilfe der Spenden u. a. dabei helfen:
• einen ganzen Klassenraum mit einem neuen Boden zu sanieren,
• Schuluniformen und Kleidung zu unterstützen,
• sowie dem Schulleiter noch einige nützliche Goodies für die Kinder zu übergeben.
Es war für uns besonders wichtig zu sehen, dass hier mit Herz und Verstand gearbeitet wird. Ilonka ist mit beeindruckender Sorgfalt und Transparenz dabei sie kalkuliert, prüft, hinterfragt und setzt konsequent um. Diese Klarheit hat es uns leicht gemacht, mit gutem Gewissen zu spenden.
Wir gehen mit einem dankbaren Herzen, vielen Eindrücken und dem festen Wunsch, dieses Projekt weiter zu begleiten.

Klasse Schule! Wir waren im Oktober in Kenia. Mit vorheriger Absprache mit der Frau Remmert wurde vor Ort ein Treffen mit ihrem Mitarbeiter arrangiert. Sehr netter Mensch (wie alle dort). In der Schule merkt man das es voran geht. Sei es mit dem Essen für die Kinder oder der neue Computerraum. Top! Sehr nette Lehrer, Schulleitung und die Kinder haben sich sichtlich über unseren Besuch gefreut. Natürlich dürften auch ein paar Sachen wie Blöcke,Stifte,Radierer,Schuhe etc. nicht fehlen die wir aus Deutschland mitgebracht hatten. An der Stelle nochmal ein Riesen Dank an Ilonka die das möglich gemacht hat.
Wir kommen wieder, das steht fest.

Wieder einmal bin ich vor Ort, um die Projekte zu kontrollieren. Bisher gab es Treffen mit den meisten Patenkindern, Dr. Mwakomah führte die erste Vorsorgeuntersuchung durch und beim Rundgang an der Schule wurden kleine Mängel festgestellt, die nun sofort repariert werden. Es sehr heiß, alles geht nur langsam voran. Heute habe ich mich mit der Gruppe Tumaini zusammengesetzt. In der nächsten Woche findet noch ein umfangreiches "Meeting" an der Schule statt. Ausführlicher berichte ich nach der Reise.

Hi all,
Hopefully the year has started well and everything is good. Am personally taking this opportunity to pass on my warm greetings from Bongwe. We started the year well and everything is fine.
Once again, I'd wish to register my utmost appreciation for the support you accorded us in the year 2023.Actualy we managed to record the best results since the school started. We were the most improved school in the area with a meanscore of 268.39.
We celebrated this performance together with our area governor. All teachers, parents and the children really enjoyed, it was so wonderful.
Today I'd wish to officially inform the team that am retired. I attained the age of 60yrs on the 18th Feb 2024.So am in the final stages of handing over the school, by Thursday 29th of February I'll be done.
So, I'd like to thank the Pro ukunda eV for the cooperation you have given me since 2018.It has been along journey but all in all we have made great achievements. I want to extend my gratitude to all of the following people who have made us be where we are today.:-
1.Our honorable President of Pro ukunda eV Mdm Ilonka Remert for her tireless commitment towards the programmes
2.All other stakeholders of Pro ukunda eV for their financial support to the programmes
3.Masud Vumbi who's been linking the school and Germany to make sure that all goes well.
4.My colleague staff mates who have been working up and down to make sure all programmes are successfully completed, more so Mdm Gambo my deputy and Mdm Jacinta who has been with the children with special needs.
5.The support staff, mainly the cooks and not forgetting Lizy and Juma for their support.
Lastly let me not forget the doctor and also the parents who have always been there for us.
So as I proceed to my retirement, I want to thank you all. You have been very wonderful people,always there to support the needy children. I have really enjoyed working with you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024. I am so happy for the year that has just ended. Indeed 2013 has been a good year. We,Bongwe Primary has seen a great year. Bongwe has improved both academically,health and even we managed to become the top 3 best school in the Subcounty. All this has been made possible because of the continous help that we have been receivong from this group pro ukunda.e.V . As a teacher in Bongwe am here to say thank you and wish all the members here a happy 2024.Moreso as the champion for the needy and sickly group I would wish to give a bigger thank you as now the pupils look healthier,much happier and performing better. Thank you for ebsuring food suply to the sickly and needy every month. Am also happy to say that we no longer loose life of any like it had been before.Thank you so much for this programme. Am also happy about the eye programme that goes on year in on the pupils this has led to better vision hence better results in acdemics and more confident pupils.As the patron Music and drama teacher in the school am one happy teacher having seen teams go all the way to Nationals every year. This has indeed helped in creating a more wholistic individual, who is more confident and aware of the world ourside Bongwe. I thank you for support given to our Music and drama team.This 2023 has brpught forth an open Kitchen in Bongwe. It's so beautiful and easy to use. Nowadays serving the pupils is easier and the cooks eyes brighter aince no smoke on air. The open kitchen is very well ventilated. Kudos and thank you. Hi all,it's another day another time, I come back to extend my sincere thanks to the organisation for the support we still enjoy. Surely it's so good especially for the young generation.
As at the moment,the new kitchen that just got completed,has started operating. The Kindergarten program is just good, infact many more children are joining.
In conclusion, may I say that we are now seeing many good things from the children as a result of the support. This may include the following:-
1. Improved enrollment at all levels.
2. Improved health standards
3. Happy and active children who are now enjoying schooling.
Nb.Infact we are now among the good performers in National exams.
We are happy and really appreciate the way you support the children. We look forward to continuing working together with you.

Für 4 Wochen bin ich in Ukunda und kontrolliere unsere Projekte. Es läuft alles nach Plan, Masoud regelt weiterhin alles bestens. May I take this opportunity on behalf of the BONGWE PRY SCHOOL family,thank you all for the support you gave us in 2022.The programs for the year went on well as per the plan. Children enjoyed and loved everything they received. It was such a good year that we were able to post good National exam results. The school posted positive deviation of 17 marks.
Special thanks to mama Ilonka who has been a great partner and link ing us well to the group.She is in fact our advisor and mentor to the school. She is very strong and tireless in making sure that the children get support from the Pro Ukunda e.V team, ASANTE SANA MAMA ILONKA.
And to the TEAM, may I say that we really appreciate ur humble concern and support for our needy children. You have been such wonderful people all over the years.Most of the children are in school because of your support.This is because most of them are from poor family backgrounds.

Many thanks to mama Ilonka for the wonderful work that you and members of proukunda group are doing in helping children realize their dreams for a better future,I am a beneficiary of your support and I must mention I'm very humbled and happy. My heartfelt appreciation to papa Christian and mama sylvia for their generous support of college fee payment and meals throughout my 2 year study course until completion and graduated with a diploma in Public Health on 2/12/2022.May Almighty bless you abundantly .
